LA-LA-Land

If it weren’t for my friends and family in Los Angeles, I don’t think I’d want to move back there. Don’t get me wrong, L.A. is cool and is nice to visit, but I’ve gotten used to the laid back lifestyle of the Bay and Amsterdam. P was in L.A. for less than an hour before he said he already hated L.A. traffic. There’s plenty to see and do, but that traffic just saps your strength.

Los Angeles

My brother S had a little impromptu BBQ and invited us over for dinner.

Los Angeles

The next evening we had burgers at Father’s Office on Helms. Cool little spot. Busy, but great burgers and dozens of small micro-brews on tap. We had Mexican food–finally!–at the Grove followed by drinks at Whisper Bar. Now this is the L.A. I can get used to. Apparently, there are a lot of Angelinos who didn’t get the memo that there was a recession, ’cause the Grove was crazy packed with people and most had shopping bags in hand.
