Traveling with P through familiar neighborhoods is great because his keen eyes catch things I’ve passed hundreds of times. While walking along The Haight P spotted this great store called Kid Robot (kidrobot.com). They have these trippy figures that are similar to collectibles which are very popular in Japan.
The spin on Kid Robot is that they have these seemingly kid-friendly characters like rabbits and princesses, until you look closely and notice the rabbit is splattered in blood and smoking a cigarette and the princess’ “cereal” bowl is actually filled with prescription drugs. Wondefully twisted. P and I are actually thinking of bringing them to the Netherlands, so if you like what you see leave a comment and perhaps we’ll start up a little reseller biz.

We picked up a couple of new hitchhikers. We don’t know their names yet, but they’re called smorkin’ labbits. Perhaps you’ll see more of them along our trip.
